For some reason, the bamboo decided to crack AFTER I reinforced it with carbon fiber. I think that it was the combination of heat, internal pressure and then mayb uneven cooling that caused the split. Perhaps the bamboo expanded with the heat, and then couldn't shrink back to normal with the reinforcing material inside.
